Foundation Activity

Green School Experience

As a means to support Green School Bali’s Local Scholarship Program, one of the activities that our foundation offers to the public is the ‘Green School Bali Campus Tours’. With the tour program, we invite everyone on the island to come visit our campus and have a fun, guided jalan-jalan (Indonesian for ‘walk/walking’) session around the jungle campus.

Visitors are given the opportunity to immerse themselves with our nature-based campus, and will get to know more about the unique learning programme at one of the world’s most progressive places of learning. From bamboo structures to Bali’s beautiful Ayung River, our paths through the jungle will take our visitors on an incredible journey.

In addition to our regular guided tours, we also offer several extended programs that visitors are able to participate in afterward the tour. These extended programs consist of fun and eco-friendly activities that support sustainable learning.

Tour FAQ'S

Green School Bali takes the global COVID-19 pandemic with the utmost seriousness and is fully committed to placing the highest priority on our duty of care to all community members. Furthermore, per entering our campus, it is mandatory to all community members and visitors to wear cloth face masks. We will also do a temperature check on all our visitors – any visitors with a temperature of 37.3ºC or higher will not be permitted to enter the campus.
Our primary focus is the safe and respectful learning environment for our students. We therefore kindly request your cooperation with our tour guidelines:
- Tour participants are limited to 10 people daily
- Gate opens 30 minutes before tour starts
- Reservations Required
- ID (KITAS, KTP or Passport) will be required to enter Green School
We strongly recommend that you arrive 30 minutes before the start of the tour for check-in and registration. The Jalan Jalan begins promptly at the scheduled time and because it leaves the reception area, we are not able to accommodate late arrivals. If for a reason you arrive later than the start of the tour, you will unfortunately be asked to reschedule for another day.
The walk around Green School will be an adventure. We are located on a steep ravine, so be prepared with the right walking shoes or sandals as we will be walking on rocks, and going up and down many steps. We don’t recommend bringing heavy backpacks or luggage. We suggest wearing light clothes and bringing an umbrella or raincoat, especially during the rainy season. We encourage all visitors to bring a reusable water bottle as we have a few locations around our campus where the visitors are welcome to refill it.
There are plenty of opportunities to see our campus structures and learning environment from the outside. You will be able to see our famous Millennial Bridge, Sangkep (assembly hall), go for a walk through our iconic Heart of School building, and much more.
We understand that different families have different expectations. Our school campus is rugged by design and intention, and has steep inclines and uneven surfaces, so please plan accordingly if you are bringing small children and babies. The Green School tour is a walking tour but pushchairs are not possible around our campus, although you may leave your pushchair at our welcome centre. We have many families who visit our campus with children of all ages, but please be advised that it can be a hot and humid experience and we highly recommend bringing sunblock, a hat, and refillable water bottle.
Please note as we are a school, so there is strictly no filming of the tour.
Media enquiries and visits may contact our Communications & Media team at communications@greenschool.org to learn more about applying for a media visit. Please understand we have a great many media requests and may take a few weeks to respond to your request.

The tour guide will make stops at designated places for some fantastic photos during your tour. Please respect that we are a school and refrain from taking photos of students or staff from close-up or from afar at any point during the tour.
